  1. Are you using the Silouhette cutter software? Usually when you want to "cut out" an image you can put the cut box around the item and then adjust setting so the program traces what you want. That way you can also use the point manipulation tool to edit points and get the end shape you want after the cut out.
  2. Love the 107. Still pining for one in 32nd, but I know its was too esoteric for that, and my scratch building skills for something that major are not up for it. Do you have an actual cutter on hand? What I have done prior is to scan a picture of the OOP canopy mask and then see if you can import it, and trace the picture to make a suitable cutout.
  3. Good to have you Michel!
  4. Good stuff! I have a Silouhette, but glad to know those files can be converted back to Vector
  5. Yeah, I'm here to learn as well. You always have some technique you use, then suddenly learn something new that can make all the difference.
  6. Good to have you Enrico! More and more mask cutouts are being uploaded all the time, so it just will get better and better
  7. Thats a nice option, to upload and replace an existing version to update, or to just rename, and get a 2nd version up.
  8. Great to have you! Although Im no longer on FB, I agree 100% that this site could be a great boon to a lot of modelers
  9. Welcome Rainer! I've had a little Portrait Silhouette for years now, and have made many, many mask sets, but Im still almost always learning something new I didn't know how to do, or something I didnt realize the software could do. So many possibilities with these, its almost endless.
  10. Yep! Im only using Inkscape atm, but dont really like it that much, so when I do find a suitable new program for AutoCAD, Ill probably be importing my own after conversion too.
  11. LOVE this one Max! Really need to get a copy for myself......
  12. Welcome! Glad to have you......I think once this site takes off, it could get a LOT of use.
  13. Hey Chris, I do exactly what Max has listed, and use crystal clear Frisket film, normally used for airbrushing and available at most craft/hobby stores. I have used Oracal 810 as that is what I normally cut my masks out of, but the frisket film has the advantage of letting you see exactly where the mask will be placed. its a bit tougher with the Oracal stuff to know exactly where you are at.
  14. Yep! 100% Agreed Max! I got the DE software only to be able to import Vectors, but the nesting feature and other bits proved to be useful as well. So far the DE does everything I need, and have not lacked for anything yet. One of THE most useful features in the Silhouette software (which IIRC is available in the base form) IMHO is the "Edit Points" feature. It allows you to pull/straighten/curve or in general tweak and image to your liking after it has been put through the outlining procedure to be able to cut.
  15. +2!! That look amazing really............and SO dinky too! Im hoping to do this very thing when the Jet-Mads JA37 comes out.
  16. These were copied right from the actual Bandai mask sets available elsewhere. I just couldnt get them when I needed them, so just imported and sized them up on the Silhouette. Turned out quite well I think. The Bandai SW kits are all AMAZING imho:

Lovely! Quite well done actually. Congrats!
  18. Yes indeed Max, very handy! Will have to try my hand at this, as its one thing I have not yet tried w/my Silhouette.
