  1. Welcome aboard, Michael! 👋 Kev
  2. That's a shame, Guy. I hope you can get it resolved without too much mucking around. Kev
  3. It looks like Imgur doesn't want to give you access to the proper image link, which is a bit annoying. The easiest way to get at it is to right-click on the image (assuming you're using a desktop browser and not a mobile device), and choose your browser's version of "copy image link". Then paste that link into the post edit window here. This should give you something like so: Very nice build, by the way! Kev
  4. Thanks, Harry. I think it makes it easier for a wider audience to understand your descriptions, and as an English-language site, I think it makes sense. Kev
  5. Thanks for this upload, Harry. Any chance of providing your descriptions in English? Kev
  6. Welcome aboard, Jamie! Kev
  7. Welcome aboard, Chuck! Great to have you here. Kev
  8. Fascinating, Guy! I've always wondered if these consumer-level units were any good. Looking forward to your report! Kev
  9. I tend to just stick with Silhouette Studio, which is pretty clunky, but also enormously capable—especially if you pay the small upgrade fee to the Business Edition. Of course, this assumes you're in the Silhouette universe, rather than Cricut, Brother, or some other alternative. Another option is Affinity Designer, which is a highly cost-effective alternative to Adobe Illustrator. Kev
  10. Welcome aboard, Davy! 🫡 I get around, so I'm known in many places! Kev
  11. If you're reading this, then I'm sure you will have noticed that I've started to customise some of the forum "header card" images that now adorn each section of the forums. Let me know what you think! I've mainly used images of my own models, just to avoid any copyright issues with "found" images. There are few for which I haven't been able to come up with anything, however, so I'd welcome any suggestions or contributions. We could feasibly swap them out on an occasional or even regular basis, though I suspect that may dilute their usefulness as a recognition tool. Kev
  12. I started this build back in 2020, and then it got stalled by whole bunch of major life changes. I resumed it again last year, and was able to finally finish it this year. It's the Revell boxing of the old Matchbox 1/32 Tiger Moth kit, combined with the 1/32 air ambulance conversion set from Uncle Les. This consisted of some resin spine pieces and a vacform windscreen/canopy, along with some home-printed decals. I used the decals as the basis for creating my own paint masks on the Silhouette Portrait, and here is the result! And its final resting place: This is the first aircraft model I've rigged since I was a kid, and I'm not particularly happy with my process, or the results it produced, but I'm certainly glad to have finished it! Full build thread can be found on LSP: https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/topic/86475-matchbox-tiger-moth-raaf-air-ambulance/ Kev
  13. I would! They may spin you some BS, but if the machine doesn't cost much, it may also be worth the gamble. Kev
  14. I thought the stuff was actually made in the US - not so? As for the width, I have a large roll that I just cut up into A4 sections to feed into the Portrait, though that's a considerably smaller machine than the Cameo 4. Anyway, glad you found a source! Kev
  15. Thanks, Mike. I think it'll take some time for all of us to adjust, and figure out what's what! Kev
  16. As you can probably tell, I've been able to successfully run the v5 forum upgrade. So here we are! It's as fresh to me as it is to you guys, so we'll have to figure it out together. Kev
  17. Well, this is embarrassing! It turns out I've been uploading the files for the upgrade to our *old* server - no wonder it didn't work! D'oh. Might be time to retire... In any case, I'll be having another go at the full v5 upgrade now, so stay tuned. (And yes, I realise I'm mostly talking to myself, here.) Kev
  18. Well, the forum software upgrade failed completely, and I have no idea why. At least the old version still works! I've submitted a request for help on the software provider's forums (the only support they seem to offer!), so we'll see what comes of that. Right now I'm just frustrated about all the hours I've wasted so far... Kev
  19. I've decided to perform this upgrade today, and it should happen sometime in the next couple of hours. I've done a test install on a local copy of the forums, and they're radically different, to say the least, so be prepared for a bit of a shock! Kev
  20. Just a quick heads-up about an impending major update to the forum software, which will take us from v4 to v5 - essentially, a whole new platform. Not only will this make wholesale changes to the look and functionality of the site, but the upgrade has to be performed manually (or at least partly so). I'll try to provide you with a specific window during which I plan to perform the upgrade, but I'll need to do a full site backup first, and the forums will probably be unavailable for the duration. One point to reiterate that will affect all members right off the bat is that, once the upgrade is complete, you will need to sign in the your email address (the one associated with your SMPM account) and usual password; using your display name ("Kevin Futter" in my case) will no longer work. More news when there's news! Kev
  21. I believe Sven had to make custom modifications to his laser cutter in order for it to be capable of meeting his requirements, which suggests that an off-the-shelf unit still may not get the job done - at least, not to the same standard as 1ManArmy seems to manage. As far as the blade cutters are concerned, however, I can't even match what Max is able to achieve! Kev
  22. Excellent work, Guy! Kev
  23. Welcome aboard, Benjamin! Kev
  24. Welcome aboard, John! Kev
  25. Welcome aboard, Massimiliano! Kev
