Hi all Thanks for letting me be part of this group. My name is Philippe (Flip) Hendrickx and i'm an avid modeller from Belgium. My main interest is airplanes (all scales) but having said that, i'm interested in all aspects of our hobby. I recently bought a 2nd hand Silhouette Cameo 3 cutter so i'm rather new this, so I hope to learn a lot here and to be able to contribute as well as soon as possible. Best regards Philippe

Thanks for the add. Newbie here, picked up a Silhouette Cameo a couple months back and have been trying it out. Upgraded to the designer edition and downloaded Inkscape to work in. Found this group through Scale Modelers Critique Group. Still learning the programs and trying to find the best way to trace decal sheets. So far it seems better to work in Inkscape and use the bezier tool to trace. Using the trace tool in Silhouette wasn't working great for me, so I'm open to suggestions. 1/35 armor guy Jim Guld

Good morning everybody. I heard about this site for the excellent On the Bench Podcast and thought I would give it a go. My name is Gary I am 56 and now enjoying enforced retirement due to disability. Modelling keeps me sane and my biggest difficulties are with painting and weathering so I am hoping that this site will give me some good tips and tricks. Cheers all Gary

Hi, my name is Jim and I am here by a judges order..............wait, this is a different group. Think I found reference to this site on BritModeller while trying to look up info on Cricuts vs Silhouettes. Trying to figure out if I wanna dive into this crazy Paint Mask world. In the process of completing my first model with almost all masks (only the kill marks were not masks)............used Montex masks. What to do, what to do, what to do?

Hi everyone, great to see a group dedicated to mask cutting. I've had a Portrait for about four years now so have quite a few files to upload (when I get a chance) - some generic, some quite specific. I really enjoy this aspect of modelling and always look for ways to utilise the cutter in order to improve my builds. Hoping to share my limited knowledge and pick up a few tips along the way. Martin

Hello everybody, I'm from Italy, building all scales but shifting to larger ones as eyesight weakens while aging. Mainly aeroplanes but with occasional ground, space and water vehicles. Recently purchase a cutting plotter and starting to explore self building paint masks. Thank you for accepting me. Ciao Giuseppe

So I've had a Cameo 1 for a couple of years but only used it to a relatively small degree. I have the full boat of software up to and including the business edition (mainly so I could import AI images. Thanks to Kevin we can share our knowledge and experiences with these contraptions.

Used to post on Large Scale Planes but lost interest in 1/32 and have not posted there in a long time. Main interest is 1/48th WWII aircraft. Recently picked up a Cameo4 start of the new year and have really enjoyed it, I can't see how I have gone this long without one, it is so handy. Still learning the software and looking forward to what I can learn and contribute to this group.
