Scale of these masks shouldn’t matter, once downloaded you can adjust to any scale to suit.

Thanks, I'll see how I get on! Complete beginner in this so it should be fun.

Good luck! Measure the decals provided with the kit so you know what size they are. When you have downloaded the file and have it on screen, choose a marking like the one you’ve measured, for example letters, circle, star etc then drag this to the size you want.

Matters to me since I appreciate the effort and precise work Michel expended to produce those accurate masks. I assume his leaving off the scale was a slight oversight.

Hannover - the masks scale out to exactly 1/48 according to my reference. Thus it would be easy to go, for example, to 1/72 (66.6%) or 1/32 (150%) using the Transform/Scale feature in Studio (upper right panel in illustration below) :

There are many Google references for mask placement, including this excellent VF-161 web site.

My Cricut Air 2 really struggled with the USS Midway mask and anything smaller than that. Can I ask what cutter you used to create these masks?

Will,

Not sure if you are asking me or Michel, but here is my take:

Disclaimer: I use a Silhouette Cameo 4, and have no experience with a Cricut.

Like you, the many factors I had to tune to get the finest cuts include: material (I use Oramask 810); blades (I use 60degree for fine); mats (I use standard grip OEM); and software  -- cut settings such as depth, pressure, speed, number of passes (I experimented and created my own Oramask Material Profile including slowest speed and one pass). Silhouette software also has settings for track enhancement and overcut (I use track enhancement, but overcut depends on the design).

I am amazed at how precise the Cameo cuts, and marvel at how repeatable the cuts are.
