Are you using the Silouhette cutter software?
Usually when you want to "cut out" an image you can put the cut box around the item and then adjust setting so the program traces what you want.
That way you can also use the point manipulation tool to edit points and get the end shape you want after the cut out.

Love the 107. Still pining for one in 32nd, but I know its was too esoteric for that, and my scratch building skills for something that major are not up for it.
Do you have an actual cutter on hand?
What I have done prior is to scan a picture of the OOP canopy mask and then see if you can import it, and trace the picture to make a suitable cutout.
