BTW - it dawned on me that it was not this way this plane looked on april 6th.... how could it have 15 kills on the tail if it was the first? Since Lützow only had 5 in Spain, it must be from other pilots scoring on this plan. But it did most certainly look like this at some point... I have the pictures to prove it

Hopefully the name explains well enough what it's intended to cover, but it's for masks for a specific aircraft in the same way that most decal sheets contain decals for specific aircraft. It can be limited to just codes and serials, but can go all the way to having everything including camouflage and canopy masks. At the moment there are no subcategories under this new one, but I can see that changing pretty quickly.

 

I've also moved two of our previous uploads into that category.

Can't tell you why mate... sure you didn't get the 'A1 variant' which was different on the centre dot...

I did it at as a generalized size so it could be scaled to any size/scale you like... that's the way I like it 🙂

Yes, as mentioned I think that except for a few topics, scale is irrelevant.

I would suggest that we do some grouping by topics, and from my point of view they should be (as an example): 'National insignia', 'Numbering', 'Camouflage', 'Unit insignia', 'Canopy masks' and 'Miscellaneous'

I think we should encourage that the file name contain a good description of the content plus scale, kit etc as appropriate

You are not talking about the 'A1 var' ??? That is a variation I found here

That has the dimensions 3:6:10:14 giving that if scaled to the outline diameter of 70 as above gives   7.5:15:25:35 e.g. a much bigger red centre

In both the references I found, the A type had the dimensions 1:3:5

The A1 and A2 added the yellow ring to 1:3:5:7 or 1:3:5:6 respectively

The files reflect that... This is the A1

The D type (47 onwards) is 1:2:3 giving much bigger red dots relatively

I usually do all masks myself (expect for the small stencill stuff or REALLY complicated artwork) in CAD. As such I usually do it in a 'generalized' form that I can then scale to whatever purpose I want it for. My files are usually dxf that can be imported into the silhouette software.

Only just recently started to use the tracing functions in the software - still have something to learn but it looks promising
