Superb, Brian! HM Models kit, if I remember correctly?

Yep, HKM. Kit went together quite brilliantly actually!

  2. This is the last model I "completed" and is a what-if scheme I came up with. Scale is 1/32nd.  All the markings save the actual camouflage itself and the JG 27 badge were done on the Silhouette cutter. This also includes the very small and intricate crossed swords and leave 200 kills badge.  Some of the masks made for this (upper and lower crosses, fuselage hakenkreuz ect) have been uploaded here for anyone to use:

I also have an actual JG-27 badge in Silhouette cutter form, so will try to upload that here as well.

    Cheers!

  3. I love Oramask 810, but the pre-shrunk issue with heat and time is a real bummer. Not a huge deal, as there are ways around it, but just have to be careful about how/when/where the masks are cut, and should be able to get around the issue.

    Good morning to all!

Happy to be here and happy to finally see the idea of an online repository of user made masks has finally seen the light. I use a cameo 2 for plotting and the silhouette designer business edition along with adobe illustrator for the design phase of the masks. I look forward to to sharing my work here for others to be able to use them too!

also happy to see here some familiar faces from other forums!

For now I'd have to say yes, but we're really only in the beginning phases of this journey, and that answer may change over time. Ideally it would be great to use a more portable format that any software can use, but I'm not sure such a thing exists. I'm hoping that once we get more experienced and expert users on board, they can school us in all the best practises, and we can adapt in light of that expert knowledge.

Sounds good Kev. The only reason I would say that may be a good option, is that about 99% of the lads I've talked to that have a cutter, have a Silhouette, and having worked some of these profiles up, I know how long it took to get them to that state, cleaned up, traced out, and in a format on the Silhouette that is easily scaleable.

  6. Good to be here Kev!  This is going to work out a treat I think with the popularity of mask cutters lately.

    Question:

I just uploaded some files to the "downloads" section, but I only had the finalized .studio3 files that my Silhouette cutter uses. This is (I'm fairly sure) common among Silhouette brand cutters, but not so sure how common among any any other mask cutters.

Is the .studio3 format ok do upload in?
