  1. Hi all, I have recently become very interested in creating masks etc. using the Silhouette Cameo 4. I am totally new to this concept but not scale models. Despite trying very hard to research this area I have virtually drawn a blank until I rediscovered this site. I have to say that a lot of information has been obtained form this site in the last hour of looking at it. I think this is an excellent idea and resource for scale modellers and I hope to be able to contribute to it more when my skill levels n this area improve. Lets not loose this resource, I, for one, want to become more active in this site in the future. Gary

  2. Welcome! IIRC, Cricut requires you to work on line and save your files on line, not your computer. There were some rumblings a couple months ago about Cricut starting to require a subscription to do that too. I recall seeing something about Cricut backing off that to some to some degree. You should probably check into that before you purchase. Silhouette software does not require that. I have a Cameo 4 and save all my files on my computer. Dave

  3. I've just started preparations for the painting stage of my Hawker Fury I (1/32 scale AlleyCat resin and white metal) having finally decided on the scheme: It's quite a complicated scheme which will require a lot of masking at various stages, and because of this I had more or less decided to use the transfers supplied with the kit, shock horror!! 😱 But no, fear not dear friends, t'was not to be.....just couldn't do it. So I found myself yesterday happily seated in front of my computer scanning the markings, importing said scans into the Silhouette screen, tracing etc etc. An idle thought came into my head, wouldn't it be a good idea to have a WiP thread in the forum specifically related to the masking part of the build. It would demonstrate people's differing techniques and experiences and be a good teaching/learning resource, which in turn may encourage more footfall in the forum. Any thoughts mates....and Kev, El Supremo?
