  1. Taking on board your comments Kev, perhaps circles cut out of clear acetate would be better. Secured with Future/Klear, pva glue or similar?
  2. Hi guys, The topic title says it all really. The reason I'm asking is the suitability for instrument glass. A guy called Gazzas is building the new Kotare 1/32nd scale Spitfire on LSP and has just completed his instrument panel. He's used clear resin and it looks good but the resin has set in a domed fashion, like a drop of water. My thoughts are whether it would be possible to pre-cut a range of circles out of clear masking material to use as the instrument glazing. What are the opinions of those in the know please? Cheers, Guy
  3. Hi Max, thanks for running the test. It looks very encouraging and will definitely yield better results than I could achieve with a punch set. 👍 Forgive my ignorance but is it possible to programme the machine to cut to fractions of a millimetre? The punches are obviously each a fixed diameter which may or may not match the scale instruments.
  4. Hello guys 'n' gals, I have a question for you all. Has anyone used their equipment to cut little circles out of acetate or similar to use as instrument faces? As many of us know, Peter at Airscale does some beautiful etched large scale replacement instrument panels. He often (always?) includes a small rectangle of clear plastic sheet to use for the glazing of the instruments. I have never been successful in cutting this to form the tiny circles so wondered if it might be possible using the tools at your disposal? As an alternative, is there any clear proprietary masking material that might be suitable? Cheers, Guy
  5. Hi everyone, hope all is well in your neck of the woods. This forum is a magnificent resource for all things masking/cutting etc. but not everyone owns or has access to a printer/cutter. Many however, would very much like to take advantage of the benefits of masks on their models. Since I'm new here I may well have missed a sub forum so please forgive me but, is there anywhere on site here where requests are placed? With so much talent available on tap, it occured to me that there could be a demand for custom masks? Is this something that has already been discussed? Cheers, Guy
  6. Hi guys, thanks for the warm welcome. Still finding my way around but all looks very exciting. 🙂
  7. Hi Kev, good to see you. Thanks for having me. 😊 👍
  8. Hello all, I discovered this forum from LSP. I've modelled for many years and I'm fascinated by modern advancements in home diy tools and techniques. Very much looking forward to seeing what everyone's up to. Cheers, Guy
