Hello form Belgium
Hi fellow modellers. I'm new in here but have been designing masks for about 4 years . I really eenjoy it, and get quite good results at reducing my decals usage ;-). Using a Cameo Silhouette 3 (thinking a bout a 5) and mostly oramask vinyl but also cricut vinyl which tends to be harder and as such allow finer details and smaller letters when it's needed.

Suggestion ...
I'd rather like to be involved if anything comes out of this. I mean I enjoy using silhouette and would gladly design et cut masks based on request (not for free, whatever people might hink of it, but neither as a real business, just a way to get paid back a bit to buy.... vinyls...and models ;-)

Did as explained (with another RAF font, the usual one wasn't installed. Some letters don't behave as expected, but some tweakings can easily fix that if I need them. Again, thank you very much !

To mask or not to mask? When borders get too narrow.
Without picture it's a bit hard to understand, but I think in this case, we have a "plain" star, then the camo paint, then another empty star surrounding it...which proves to be slightly more complex. but at 1/32 scale it's doable. as the others mentionned, it's all about doing things in the right order. Knowing that hiding an already painted element is often complicated, as it's close to invisible and the alignement might suffer from this. This scenario requires multiple masks to put and remove...but again, with a proper organisation, you can do it, and as said before, avoid the thin lines as masks, you usually don't get the expected results.

Hello from Belgium
Hi everyone, I'm Jeepee from Liège and as old as I might be, I'm totally new with the use of Silhouette devices Gald to be here, eager to learn Been doing model kits as a teenoager ans topped for about 30 years, now I'm back into modelling I'd like, like you all do, create my own masks and try to understand the best way to "draw" them Can we use "forms" from other software to convert them into "lines" that will be cut ?
